God Bless America Once again is the twentieth solo studio album and third gospel album past American country music vocalizer-songwriter Loretta Lynn. Information technology was released on June five, 1972, by Decca Records.[ane] This was Lynn's final album of religious material for 25 years. Her next gospel album would be 1997's All Time Gospel Favorites.
The title song was cowritten by Bobby Bare and has led some to mislabel this release as a collection of patriotic songs. Largely consisting of new material, the album likewise includes a few well-known songs, including "Softly and Tenderly", "Simply a Closer Walk with Thee", "Merely a Little Talk with Jesus", "I Feel Like Traveling On" and "If God Is Dead (Who'south That Living in My Soul)". Lynn wrote two songs for the anthology, "Working for the Lord" and "I Pray My Way Out of Trouble".

Billboard published a review in the July 1, 1972 outcome that said, "With cloth that proves show stoppers in her concert appearances, Miss Lynn has a powerful sales particular in these strong performances. Amidst the pinnacle cuts are the title tune besides equally "Working for the Lord", "If God Is Dead", "I Feel Like Traveling On", and "I Pray My Manner Out of Trouble"."[3]
In the June 17 effect, Cashbox published a review saying, "America was truly blest with new promise and resources at the time that "God Bless America" was written, and if this country always needed a blessing over again, it's here and at present. Well-nigh fortunately, the blessing bestowed upon united states with this anthology is Loretta Lynn'south pure and truthful state talent, delivering, eleven songs revolving effectually the theme of our proud American heritage and its futurity. Listen to "Six Feet of Sod" and "Livin' in God's Country" and watch the Stars and Stripes wave in time to the music."[4]

Recording sessions for the anthology took identify 2 years before the anthology was released. The first session was on April viii, 1970, at Bradley's Barn in Mountain Juliet, Tennessee. Two boosted sessions followed on July 15 and August 12.[5]
